Hi, Bingeing Watches junior here, I want to tell you about my experience with the Accutime MIN4045AZ Minecraft Touchscreen Interactive Smart Watch.
Let me start off by saying that Minecraft is one of my family's favorite games. We play alone and together. So when my Dad was looking at watches at the store and we saw Minecraft themed watches, we knew we had to get it.
Then we watched a YouTube video that showed how to upgrade the memory by replacing the micro SD card inside of it. To do that, you take the back off the watch. You pry up the rechargeable battery and underneath you find a card slot. You have to pry out the memory card that is in there by lifting and sliding it at the same time. We installed a 256MB micro SD card my Dad had. Put it all together and it didn't work.
My Dad realized he had to reformat the card to FAT32 format to make it work. So we took all apart again. Put the card in the computer and reformatted it to FAT32. Then we put it all together again and suddenly we had lots of room for pictures and more.
I had high expectations for this watch. I was hoping because it was Minecraft themed, the games would be Minecraft themed too. I thought adding more memory would let me build bigger worlds. Instead the games were lame. Like a bunch of online math class games. The camera only takes very small pictures and they are not very clear. It was still fun to wear to school and show my friends.
A week after we got it, we went to the YMCA to go swimming and I found out the hard way that the watch has no water resistance. It is not a dive watch. I was super bummed about it and my Dad was not happy either, because we had not even reviewed it yet.
We dried it out and then tried it again, no luck. We took it apart and found a mess inside.
Opened it up and found a bunch crusty dried up corrosion.
Not sure what any of that is, but my Dad says electronics work on smoke, and if you let the smoke out, electronics don't work any more. I guess I let the smoke out. Haha, Dad jokes! My Dad loves me a lot, and he surprised me with another one, so we could do the review. We are going to download some Minecraft music and pictures. It is a fun watch and will keep kids attention as long as it lasts, which won't be very long if they go swimming like I did. It was fun while it lasted.
